Home learning

Ideas for home learning to support our theme this term.

Can you

  • Please try to share a book daily with your child. If they have a school reading book coming home, please try to hear/watch your child read/sign this daily. Please discuss the pictures and what is happening in the story alongside looking at the words.
  • Play board and card games to explore number tracks and practice counting… snakes and ladders is a class favourite!
  • Involve your child in baking and cooking activities at home focussing on counting and measuring and exploring weight.

Why not

  • Go for walks in the park, the beach or woodland and talk about the plants and animals that you see. Take photos & email them into class.
  • Go to a local garden centre, buy flower seeds, plant them at home and watch them grow!
  • Take a trip to your local library to find books about the beach, trees, growing vegetables!
  • Take photos of your garden or family gardens and send in the photos on the class Dojo for your child to share with us all!
  • Grow some runner beans or tomatoes!
