The Big Ask for children across England ... April 2021
Families may have seen information about this on today's news / media coverage.
What is it?
The Big Ask – is the largest ever survey of children in England, designed to find out what their concerns and aspirations about the future are. It has been produced by the Children's Commissioner for England. Click on the link below to see the You Tube Video (Subtitles are available).
The Big Ask is now live, click this link to find out more information:
To make The Big Ask a success we need to encourage families to respond to the survey using the link above.
There are also lots of resources for The Big Ask, including activity packs.

The results from this survey will help to identify the barriers preventing children from reaching their potential, put forward solutions and set ambitious goals for the country to achieve.
These surveys are often difficult for our children due to the impact deafness has had on hearing impairment - however, families are best placed to help interpret their children's thought and views.
Pupil Values
In March we asked our pupils to contribute their ideas on whole school values. What values should Royal Cross share within school?
Pupil Voice
In November we asked our pupils what they thought of school. Have a look at what they said.

School Council Elections
The school hold elections to elect a Chairperson; Vice Chairperson & a Secretary for the School Council every year.
We look forward to working closely with our School Council and welcome any feedback and suggestions from them.
Take a look at the School Council News page for updates.
Head Boy and Girl Elections
Every September the School Council organise elections for our new Head Boy and Head Girl.
Pupil 'Worry Box'
Sometimes our pupils may need to express their 'worries' or concerns to staff but in an anonymous way. We have a way to do this through our 'Worry Box' that is available to all our pupils. Staff are aware of this and check regularly to make sure pupils have a way to express concerns.
Pupil Notice Board
We have a new Pupil Notice Board in the hall.
This is a dedicated area for any of our pupils to post news, information or ideas.
I'm looking forward to seeing their posts!
