Pupils

At Royal Cross, we value the contribution that all our pupils make to making our school an even better place to learn. We actively encourage pupil participation in school life through various roles and responsibilities. Every child has a voice and can share their ideas through School Council and classroom discussions.

The School Council gives pupils opportunities to share these opinions with the Headteacher. A new school council is chosen each year and has representatives from every class from Reception to Y6. The council meets each week and will often ask the Headteacher to attend.

We have a team of librarians to help-out in the library and a team of ICT Champs who are responsible for the iPads in each class. The Prefects help the younger children in school and are excellent role models around school and on school trips.

Individual achievement is celebrated each Friday afternoon when pupils from each class are awarded Star Achiever Certificates. The week’s Team points are announced and Team Captains receive the weekly Team Cup. The Head Boy and Head Girl alongside our School Ambassador take responsibility for organising the Team points and certificates.

Royal Cross is a community that supports one another and each member of our community is valued.
