Nursery Places Available
We are delighted to share with parents, carers, friends and colleagues confirmation of our specialist nursery at Royal Cross School for deaf children.
We were awarded our 3rd consecutive 'Outstanding' grading by OFSTED (26th June 2019) and are excited to begin development of the school through the provision of a specialist Nursery.
- It is a 12 place nursery.
- It is term time only.
- The Nursery hours are from 8:45 am – 3:15 pm.
- It is open to 2, 3 & 4 year olds
- Full day session can be booked or half day sessions.
- Places will be allocated on a ‘first come – first served’ basis.
- We will also open a waiting list for children who are not yet 3.
Parents / Carers may use their 15 hour (Universal entitlement)
& the 30 hours (extended entitlement) for working
parents of 2, 3 & 4 year olds.
Our aim is to provide families and children with specialist early intervention by Qualified Teachers of the Deaf alongside specialist support staff, including ELKLAN and WELL COMM trained TA3’s and a BSL trained assessor and Deaf role model.
This will guarantee that deaf children get the very best start to their communication and language development, vital when accessing the curriculum and achieving the very best outcomes.
We will consider assessment places for those children who may need additional support to enter a mainstream provision and our staff will support transition into these settings and any follow up outreach..
We also have a qualified SENCo who will be able to support families in any Educational, Health and Care Plan assessessments.
